Hamza
An ambitious teenager with a dream !
About
My name is Hamza Suliman, and I am applying to Australian Universities for an undergraduate engineering degree in Computer Engineering. Having a personal connection to Australia and a lifelong interest in technology, I would be honored to attend a prestigious Aussie institution to further develop my knowledge and skills and one day be able to make a change in this field.
I grew up in Melbourne Australia, having spent 7 of my earliest years there I am very fond of the country and its rich culture and society. This early exposure to Australian life instilled in me a sense of belonging and a desire to one day come back and pursue higher education.
Throughout my years in primary school, I had begun to excel in the sciences and mathematics, and by the time I had started to take Computer as a subject I was hooked, I spent a lot of my time researching how computers worked and what electricity actually was, intrigued at how 0s and 1s could make such complex systems.
At that point my father, seeing my keen interest in these things, decided to sign me up to an Hour of Code event held at a convention center nearby. There, with my prior experience and research, I had won first place by completing the objectives the quickest.
Since then, I have taken apart in numerous programs and competitions relating to my interests and have spent a large chunk of my free time practicing my programming skills and enhancing my knowledge of circuits and electronics, these experiences have not only deepened my understanding of computers and technology, but also fostered valuable skills such as teamwork, communication, and adaptability.
By pursuing this degree in Australia, I hope to benefit from the country’s esteemed education system, which incorporates both theoretical learning and practical applications. I am particularly interested in UNSW’s faculty and research departments, which are outstandingly ranked first in the country, and their hands on industrial training which is part of the course, perfectly aligning with my academic goals.
Furthermore, returning to Australia will provide me with an opportunity to reconnect with the country I once called home, and to take advantage of the multicultural environment to meet and connect with likeminded people and to join communities that offer considerable events like hackathons, conferences, and exhibitions to better my skills and develop.
